WTF is Flickr?

Today I have stepped into another new world of digital socialization and showcasing of my photos called Flickr.  I have seen many postings about what Flickr is, that it connects with Yahoo! etc.  I have also researched on the internet to find photos that redirected me to this alien website.  But once I started to look at it, I saw that it is one of the most revolutionary ways to display your photos.  The link is below:

As an advantage to Facebook, Flickr gives you, the sole proprietary ownership of your photos, so they are copyrighted to you.  On Facebook, your photos are not copyrighted, and anybody could take some beautiful works of art that you one day would become famous for, and use them for themselves.  Now they are the famous ones.  How would that feel?  Not good for me at least.  So that is why I am now placing all of my photos on this great site.

I am uber excited to keep working on updating my flickr account because now it is connected with this blog!  Check out my slideshow at the bottom of this page, and you can see photos streamed from my flickr account.  Wow, isn't it great how the world is like a big puzzle and everything can just connect together?

In other news, my digital camera died.  For some reason, it just stopped turning on.  That is very frustrating, seeing as it is the second time this has happened to me on a canon camera...  I had the Canon SX120:
It was an awesome camera.  With manual aperture, and F stop functions and a 10x wide optical zoom, this camera had it all for me.  But you know what?  It was too big.  I couldn't take it anywhere without its accompanied Lowepro fanny-pack:

So since I had to get rid of the old camera, I decided, "Hey! This is a great opportunity to get a smaller one!" So I decided that Canon has failed me twice, and that is two strikes, you're out.  So I bought a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX5.  It is half the depth.  Whew!!  And yet it still has the manual functions and a 10x zoom!  Plus this has a sweep panorama feature... this thing is nuts.  You just drag the camera across a scene, and the entire peripheral vision is captured in a panorama photo.  The camera is below:

I am going to be taking all of my new photos with this, and i will keep you posted on how I like it!  Thanks for reading, and until next time, Happy Reading!
