WTF is Flickr?

Today I have stepped into another new world of digital socialization and showcasing of my photos called Flickr.  I have seen many postings about what Flickr is, that it connects with Yahoo! etc.  I have also researched on the internet to find photos that redirected me to this alien website.  But once I started to look at it, I saw that it is one of the most revolutionary ways to display your photos.  The link is below:

As an advantage to Facebook, Flickr gives you, the sole proprietary ownership of your photos, so they are copyrighted to you.  On Facebook, your photos are not copyrighted, and anybody could take some beautiful works of art that you one day would become famous for, and use them for themselves.  Now they are the famous ones.  How would that feel?  Not good for me at least.  So that is why I am now placing all of my photos on this great site.

I am uber excited to keep working on updating my flickr account because now it is connected with this blog!  Check out my slideshow at the bottom of this page, and you can see photos streamed from my flickr account.  Wow, isn't it great how the world is like a big puzzle and everything can just connect together?

Well, this is my first blog post.  Ever.  And it is nice to have the ability to write about your life, share it, and most likely have nobody read it.  But if you are reading this, then you must be in the wrong place, have randomly stumbled upon this, or know me well.  I appreciate that.  You can read about me in my "About Me" section, that is pretty easy stuff.

I don't know how to blog.  I actually didn't even know what blogging meant a few years back.  I stumbled upon a blog when researching something on the internet and I was extremely confused on how to navigate it.  It is actually quite simple.  You can just read.  I guess I was oblivious to that fact.

But now, as you see, I am writing in my own blog.  So I must have figured it out somehow.  And to tell you the truth, it is relaxing and soothing being able to write on my own blog.

So I want to make some promises now to myself, and to you, the reader, so you will subscribe and actually want to read what I post.

1. I promise to post only relevant and pertinent information to you about myself, the world and beyond that you hopefully find interesting.

2. I promise not to hold back my opinion or any descriptions of my endeavors so that the reader will have a true blog experience.

3. I promise to post often, at least once every two weeks, but usually will be at least a few times a week.  Soon, I will be posting every day.

4. I promise to manipulate your emotions.  I know that sounds a bit sketchy, but I mean that I will make you laugh, cry, empathize, or completely outright disagree with what I have to say.  But at least you will be engaged.

5. I promise to do my best, to do my duty, to god and my country, to help other people and to obey the law of the pack.

Actually, that last one is my old cub scout motto.  So scratch that. As you can see, I did that for you already.
